IEEE Club

IEEE Xplore is a research database for discovery and access to journal articles, conference proceedings, technical standards, and related materials on computer science, electrical engineering and electronics, and allied fields. Stella Mary’s College of Engineering is an institutional member of IEEE. An ‘IEEE Awareness Session’ was conducted by Dr.T.D.Subash , IEEE Chairman,IEEE Photonics Society,IEEE Madras Chapter,Chennai, at Stella Mary’s College of Engineering, Aruthenganvilai, Kanyakumari district on 12/10/2018 between 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM. An awareness about the IEEE professional body membership and its benefits was given to the students of I year. Dr.Subash also had a session with the elite group of students from all the circuit branches, discussing with them the importance of the role that IEEE would play in their lives benefitting both their career and future profession. The session was presided over by the Principal, Dr.Suresh Premil Kumar, the Head of the Department of EEE, Dr.Ezhil,Assistant Professor/EEE, Dr.Freeda,HoD/S&H Department and Dr.R.Reena Daphne, Associate Professor/EEE. The session was concluded with an interaction with the students clarifying their queries relating to the content delivered. A motivation towards what is engineering really about and how IEEE plays its part in moulding one’s engineering career was highlighted. Also an insist was posed to open an IEEE students’ branch at Stella Mary’s College of Engineering. Students of EEE, ECE and CSE are members in this professional society.
