Practical facilities supporting surveying, construction materials, environmental, geotechnical, transportation and design education.

The Surveying and Levelling Laboratory provides students with practical understanding of surveying techniques and instruments used for precision measurements, land surveys, levelling, contour mapping and infrastructure planning.

The Water and Wastewater Analysis Laboratory supports experiments related to the physical, chemical and environmental characteristics of water and municipal wastewater. Students gain practical exposure to evaluating water-quality and wastewater-quality parameters.

The Materials Testing Laboratory develops students' skills in testing construction materials and analysing their engineering properties. Practical work supports knowledge of material behaviour, strength, performance and quality control in construction.

The Soil Mechanics Laboratory enables students to investigate index and engineering properties of soils. Laboratory exercises help students understand soil behaviour and geotechnical principles relevant to foundations, earthworks and Civil Engineering infrastructure.

The Highway Engineering Laboratory familiarises students with principles and procedures used to evaluate materials for road and pavement construction. Students examine the properties and performance of transportation infrastructure materials through practical testing.

The Building Drawing and Detailing Laboratory develops students' ability to prepare building drawings and engineering details using modern computer-based design tools. Students develop skills in planning, drafting and detailing for Civil Engineering and construction applications.

This is a proud moment for me as I reflect on my college experience. I pursued my Bachelor's degree at Stella Mary's College of Engineering. I was initially nervous when I joined, but after becoming part of the institution I received immense support from the Head of the Department and dedicated faculty members. The autonomy given to students, along with the encouragement of faculty, allowed me to express my ideas freely and continuously improve myself. Participating in various college events significantly improved my confidence. Two moments that stand out most are serving as Student Association President and receiving the title of Best Outgoing Student. I sincerely thank the Department of Civil Engineering, the faculty members and the placement cell for their support in shaping my academic and professional journey.
